In a week long Legislative Session, one of the Legislative Bills introduced by Sen. Rodriguez, Bill 133-33 (COR) was debated on the legislative floor during the November session last week.
Bill 133-33's intent was to authorize Guam's commissioned Notary Public's to perform their notarial acts in a foreign country for legal documents to be used on Guam.
After much debate and deliberation, the Guam Legislature passed the bill with 9 yeas, 5 nays and 1 excused absence.
This bill will provide added economic development in allowing Guam's Notary Publics to provide a service to investors from foreign countries in their real estate transactions. All documents notarized must be filed with the Department of Land Management.
The Bill has been transmitted to the Governor's office for his review and hopeful enactment.
